Security Licence Verification Methodology

Accreditation Protocol Version: 2.0 | Multi-Stage Regulatory Verification Framework

SecurityProviders.com.au enforces a rigorous five-stage verification framework to ensure commercial clients connect exclusively with legitimate, legally compliant Australian security contractors. Every profile verification is conducted manually by trained compliance specialists.

The 5-Stage Verification Framework

Stage 1: ASIC Corporate Entity & ABN/ACN Audit

We cross-reference the business entity name, active ABN status, Australian Company Number (ACN), corporate structure (Pty Ltd, Sole Trader, Trust), and GST registration status against the Australian Business Register and ASIC databases. Inactive or deregistered entities are disqualified immediately.

Stage 2: State Police Master Security Licence Cross-Examination

We query official state police licensing registers (e.g. NSW SLED, Victoria Police LRD, Queensland OFT, WA Police, SA CBS) to confirm:

  • Licence status is strictly CURRENT (not Suspended, Expired, or Revoked);
  • The licensee entity name exactly matches the registered corporate name;
  • Master Licence operative subclass (e.g. MA, MB, MC, MD, ME in NSW) authorizes the business scale;
  • Recorded expiry dates are monitored for periodic re-verification.

Stage 3: Physical Office vs. Operational Coverage Authentication

To protect commercial clients from virtual mailbox schemes, a security provider is only attributed a physical office location if documented commercial tenancy, industrial depot facilities, or registered principal place of business records exist. General operational territories are clearly labeled as servicing areas.

Stage 4: Executive Authority & Ownership Verification

When a business profile is claimed, our compliance team manually audits the claimant's corporate authority. Verification requires an official corporate domain email (e.g. @company.com.au), ASIC directorship cross-matching, or formal authorization on corporate letterhead. Automated bot approvals are strictly prohibited.

Stage 5: Insurance & Operational Credential Audit

We verify that providers maintain active Public Liability Insurance with minimum recommended coverage ($10,000,000 to $20,000,000) and state-compliant workers' compensation insurance policies prior to awarding premier trust badges.

Trust Badges & Credential Indicators

Our platform displays distinct badges to communicate a contractor's verified standing:

  • Verified Licence Badge: Confirms the provider's Master Security Licence has been cross-referenced against official state police registers.
  • Documented Office Badge: Confirms commercial headquarters or branch office tenancy in the designated locality.
  • Verified Business Profile (Green Shield): Certifies that an authorized corporate representative has claimed and verified the profile and actively manages directory communications.

Ongoing Monitoring & Expiry Re-Verification

Verification is not a one-time event. Our platform executes automated expiry checks against recorded licence expiration dates. Profiles with expired licences are flagged immediately, stripping verified badges and initiating a compliance review.
